 Smallest and lightest units
July 1st 2004

Asco Joucomatics new Compact 8 valve islands are said to be the smallest and lightest 8mm section units on the market, consuming less than one third the space of other 8 station islands and weighing, in some cases, just half as much. These benefits make the Compact 8 suited for OEMs looking to downsize their machines while enjoying high flow performance (280l/min), plus the flexibility of simplified assembly and Fieldbus communications. An 8 station Compact 8 island uses 490cm3 of machine/panel space and weighs 600g, yet it offers enough flow to operate 50mm bore cylinders, directly, and can pilot piston and butterfly process valves. Supplied with IP65, the islands can be mounted directly onto machines, in panels or pneumatic actuators. Also, with one key to assemble up to 16 8mm wide valves, the majority of needs can be satisfied quickly, usually from a single manifold platform, that is compatible with standard fieldbuses.
