 SMS-based
March 1st 2005

Stark‘s new data retrieval service uses SMS-based automatic meter reading (AMR) for non half hourly electricity meter reading.

The company says Clarity DR marks the end of manual meter reading and its associated problems and makes AMR affordable to the non half hourly market.

The meter is a one-box solution that integrates metrology and communications, halving hardware costs, and the company points out that sending SMS text messages is far less expensive than renting fixed phone lines and paying call charges.

Howard Stark, MD, says “Estimated bills and supplier overcharges will now be a thing of the past and accounting and admin costs will be significantly reduced.

Customers will be able to cut energy waste and improve procurement.”
