Stainless steel motors November 1st 2005
A new range of AC 3-phase IEC metric stainless motors is available from Marlin Stainless, a division of AEG Electric Motors.
The motors are interchangeable with standard IEC motors, allowing simple upgrades to a fully stainless design. Manufactured to withstand high pressure wash-downs (IP66) even when using chemical cleaning agents, they are well suited to the demands of the food, beverage, pharmaceutical and process industries.
The corrosion resistance and hygienic characteristics of the motors are enhanced by their smooth exterior. There are no cooling fins or nameplates (data is etched into the motor body).
Other features include an NTN Blue double lip seal and a GAMMA seal fitted on the shaft to guard against ingress to the motor. For internal protection and to provide compatibility with inverter control, motor stator windings are double vacuum and pressure impregnated and phases are insulated.
Motors come in power ratings 0.18 to 7.5kW, in metric frame sizes to 132, as TEFC machines. Units to 0.76kW are also available from 63 frame sizes as TENV machines. More articles from Lafert Electric Motors Ltd: |
