Latest Bosch Rexroth cylinder November 30th 2005 Bosch Rexroth has come up with a newly designed cylinder to help meet demand for sleek, efficient, technically advanced products.
The Octagon OCT cylinder series features an octagonal piston plus robust anodised extruded aluminium casing, with end caps moulded from engineering grade polymide plastic. However, the unit still complies with ISO6432 dimensions criteria and is fully interchangeable with all competitive models.
The octagonal piston rod configuration means all versions can be non-rotating at no additional cost. Nor are there the sealing problems encountered with square non-rotatable rods. The octagonal profile also has a larger surface area and delivers more power for the same diameter, according to Rexroth.
Designed for a 3000Km minimum stroke life, it is available in diameters from 8 to 32mm, and a complete range of single - and double-acting formats, and in standard increments up to a maximum 500mm stroke length, available within 48 hours. Non standard sizes are also available as are double piston rods and hollow roods for passing fluids through.
Competitively priced as a replacement part or original equipment, the OCT cylinder’s compact design allows more cylinders to be grouped together in a small space. Rexroth also offers CAD files in standard 2D and 3D formats to ease change over for OEMs and system integrators.
