Shaft sealing for hydropower plants
December 14th 2006

Hydrosele is a shaft sealing system from James Walker that will, the company claims, cut maintenance and improve the reliability and profitability of Francis and Kaplan water turbines in hydropower plant across the world.

Simple to install and adjustment free, this split-type cartriidge seal comes with an extended three year guarantee (subject to agreed operating conditions).

At the end of the guarantee period, the unit is economically refurbished on site in just a few hours to return it to good as new condition for a further three years of high integrity sealing.

James Walker product manager, Tim Smith, claims the Hydrosele “can pay for itself in less than two years”.
