Small, robust personal single gas monitor
June 22nd 2006

Draeger says its new Pac 7000 Personal Single Gas Monitor is tailor made for constant use in potentially hazardous workplace environments. Small and robust, ergonomic and intuitive, the company says it is also both powerful and economic to use.

Equipped with a wide range of functions and suitable for many different applications, the Pac 7000 offers a high level of reliability and fast warning against harmful concentrations of carbon monoxide, hydrogen sulphide or oxygen. Full details can be viewed at www.draeger-safety.co.uk/PAC.

Featuring a back-lit, language-free, liquid crystal display which continuously shows warning functions as well as the gas concentration in large numerals and symbols, this compact unit incorporates the new Draeger XXS sensors. These sensors, which feature a long lifespan, ensure extremely short electrochemical reaction times and enable the unit to respond immediately to any gas hazard, according to Draeger.

Protected by an impact resistant housing complete with a protective rubber coating that is also resistant to corrosive chemicals, the PAC 7000 meets the requirements of IP65 and is fitted with a rotating crocodile clip for secure fastening. Inside the housing, the sensor has been carefully positioned to allow gas to be detected from above and from in front, thereby minimising the dangers associated with the gas inlet being accidentally covered.

Equipped with vibrational, visual and two-tone audible alarms which are activated as soon as the threshold levels are reached, or if the oxygen levels fall below the set value, the Pac 7000 also emits an alarm at the end of the battery capacity or in the event of a device error.
