Purpose built heating units August 21st 2007 When Stekko was looking for precision temperature control for its custom-built stainless steel jacketed vessels it called in Tricool Engineering the UK designer and manufacturer of temperature control products.
Stekko, a project-led engineering company based in High Wycombe Buckinghamshire specialises in the manufacture of a range of finely tuned products for national and international companies in the food, drink, chemical and pharmaceutical industries who require reliability and an efficient back-up service.
Stekko approached Tricool to design purpose-built heating units for its stainless steel jacketed vessels, which are highly specialised pieces of equipment that are widely used in the pharmaceutical industry for the manufacture of capsule form drugs.
“Our vessels are specially engineered to cope with wide ranging temperatures as the contents are heated up to 80ºC then cooled down to -2ºC.,” says Chris Chaffey, Stekko’s managing director.
“We chose to work with Tricool as the company has a highly skilled workforce and a reputation for designing to exacting criteria for a wide range of applications,” adds Chris.
Following an extensive brief, Tricool designed and manufactured a custom-built 5kW thermoregulator to provide accurate temperature control. The unit circulates water through a closed circuit that maintains the temperature of the jacketed vessel’s contents within a very tight tolerance.
“Stekko and Tricool have worked well for the last 10 years. So far Tricool has supplied 45 systems and we are confident that whatever the application Tricool can be relied upon to provide the best solution that meets our requirements.”
