High efficiency heating June 25th 2007 Dravo, the industrial division of the Northampton based domestic warm air heater and condensing boiler manufacturer, Johnson and Starley, has completed the installation of a high efficiency warm air heating system at TPS Healthcare Group new Midlands distribution centre at Wellingborough.
The system employed comprises of three Dravo model AM092, gas fired unit heaters, at 92kw output each, they are the largest of a six model range. The unit heaters are supplemented with eight Elioturbo de-stratification fans.
The primary function of the fans is to recirculate the stratified warm air, but with the dense full height racking (9m) covering two-thirds of the warehouse, they provide invaluable assistance in distributing the warm air.
The Dravo AM Range of gas fired unit heaters incorporates a fully modulating pre-mixed burner which gives a 30% energy saving over conventional models. The pre-mix burner allows exceptionally clean combustion, with extremely low emissions, with no CO (carbon monoxide), only 35ppm NOx, and an operating efficiency of up to 94.5%. This ulta-high efficiency allows the range to be included on the Energy Technology List, hence qualifying for the Governments Enhanced Capital Allowance Scheme, bringing the associated tax incentives.
