A meter for HAV monitoring
March 26th 2008 Based on the UK’s leading Methodologies on Human Vibration exposure, noise and vibration experts, Reactec, has developed a revolutionary method for monitoring Hand Arm Vibration.
The HAVmeter is the core of a new technology to manage employee’s exposure to Hand-Arm Vibration. The low cost system has been designed and developed based on the feedback from major global construction companies, public bodies and small, local industries trying to control and eliminate the risks of Hand Arm Vibration exposure.
The HAVmeter objectively monitors and records individuals' exposure to Hand Arm Vibration and will alarm employees when they are approaching their legal vibration exposure limit.
The HAVmeter gives power tool users a running total of their vibration points exposure throughout the day and warns before high exposure levels are reached.
Additional valuable information such as tool usage, and details of tools producing abnormal or excessive amounts of vibration, can also be recorded.
Having successfully trialled the HAVmeter across a number of large companies in a range of industries including construction, highways and automotive the HAVmeter system is proving to be very popular.
Demand for a system that accurately and efficiently monitors and protects employees has resulted in the first production run being almost entirely allocated by customers placing pre-orders.
