Aisle-Master the comfortable choice for Lissadell
November 27th 2008

Lissadell manufactures and distributes high quality towelling products to some of the world’s most prestigious hotels and spas. A recent move to new premises amalgamated storage, distribution and administrative facilities under one roof, and maximum space utilisation of the 12,000 ft2 warehouse has been achieved by using an electric powered Aisle-Master articulated forklift.

General Manager Marc Wynne considered conventional VNA trucks, but was put off by added costs, such as the need to install floor sensors, and the requirement for another forklift to work in the yard. “Luckily,” as Marc puts it, “Damien Murray from Aisle-Master demonstrated that the Aisle-Master’s articulated design and versatility was going to be our one-truck solution.”

The truck works in aisles almost as narrow as a VNA truck, and the extra versatility it offers more than outweighs savings of a few centimetres here and there, and it transitions easily from the warehouse to unpaved yards. “It couldn’t have worked out better,” says Marc. “Its manoeuvrability and versatility make the Aisle-Master a great truck. The drivers find it easy to operate, and appreciate the good visibility. This system will enable us to keep up with growing global demand for our products.”

Aisle-Masters are designed and built at the company’s manufacturing facility in Co. Monaghan, Ireland, and are available with electric or LPG power. They can work in aisles of just 1.75m, with capacities of up to 2.5 tonnes and lift heights of up to 12.5 metres. Electric models now all incorporate AC technology as standard.
