Co-located shows give even more reasons to visit
April 7th 2008

Major engineering trade shows Plant & Works Engineering (PWE), Drives & Controls, Electrex, International Fluid Power Exhibition (IFPEX), AirTech, SubCon and the manufacturing showcase MACH will co-locate at the Birmingham NEC in April to provide industry professionals with a one-stop shop for engineering and manufacturing needs. Independent Power & Energy Europe completes the group of shows, which the organisers are confident will attract visitors in excess of the 40,000 who attended the last event in 2006.

Engineering professionals from all areas of industry will be keen to take advantage of the proximity of so many top class exhibitors under one roof. Visitors are likely to be from many backgrounds: from plant, works, maintenance, mechanical, electrical and facilities managers to those running factories, production, warehouse and logistics or training operations. All will be able to assess and fulfil all their manufacturing strategy needs in just one location. Organisers DFA Media have confirmed a wide-ranging programme of seminars to run alongside the exhibitions and a number of prestigious keynote speakers will address the seminar audience.

Drives & Controls is the UK's premier event for mechanical power transmission, motion control and automation and the technologies covered by the exhibition encompass every aspect of manufacturing and service. Whether you’re a machine safety expert, researching contactors and switchgear, or sourcing items from motion controls to couplings, from sensors and software to motors and controllers, this is an event that demands time in your calendar.

Plant & Works Engineering is a brand new event for plant, works and maintenance engineers and will reflect the multi-tasking culture of today’s engineers. The show will cover areas such as energy; CMMS; EAM; health and safety; condition monitoring; handling and storage; industrial rental; building maintenance and boilers and burners.

A full seminar programme has been confirmed for the co-locating shows. The success of the 2006 event was enhanced by the conference programme which ran alongside it and this year an equally diverse and well-targeted programme has been devised. The programme of free seminars will cover a wide range of subject matter, from energy management and plant safety to manual handling, Ethernet communications and gearbox maintenance.

Among those making keynote speeches to delegates will be Chris Dee of the British Compressed Air Society; Ian Morris of the British Fluid Power Association; RoSPA Consultant Pete Dixon; Professor Len Gelman, Director of Centre of Vibro-Acoustics and Fatigue at Cranfield University; Tim Marks of AEMT (Association of Electrical Mechanical Trades) and Chief Economist for Manufacturers’ Organisation EEF, Stephen Radley.

This unmissable event will take place at the Birmingham NEC from 22 – 24 April 2008. For more information about the co-locating shows or the seminar programme, visit www.pwe08.com.
