During 2009, many organisations in the manufacturing sector may need to make changes to bring themselves in line with new environmental regulations. The Waste Controls Regulations 2009 and Environmental Damage (Prevention and Remediation) regulations 2009 will apply to many manufacturing businesses. If you are not compliant by the time they come into force
you could risk prosecution and fines from the Environment Agency.
Small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) were fined £2.4 million in 2007 for pollution and environmental damage.
