The fast track to more energy efficient gearboxes/gearmotors
July 28th 2009

Baldor offers a fast-turnaround gearbox assembly service in Europe. The assembly line is located in Bristol, and is capable of building a wide range of models from the popular Dodge Quantis family of high efficiency gearboxes and gearmotors. The service enables custom-configured power transmission products to be delivered within days.

Quantis gearboxes and gearmotors are based on a modular design concept. These products are used for a wide variety of industrial applications, including conveying, pumping, mixing, winding and extruding machines. Baldor stocks all necessary components to assemble Quantis in-line helical and right-angle helical bevel speed reducers and gearmotors, in case sizes from 38-108. The range includes the new Quantis Gold B14/C-face gearmotor - the most energy efficient package available.

In line helical speed reducers offer a choice of foot or output flange mountings, are available in double or triple ratios, and have an efficiency of up to 98.5% per stage. Helical bevel right-angle speed reducers offer shaft-mount, foot or output flange mounting, triple ratios, and an efficiency of 95% per stage. Both are suitable for B14/C-face, separate or integral gearmotor use.

Baldor can assemble IEC and NEMA speed reducers and gearmotors, to accommodate OEMs serving both European and American markets. The company also offers an exceptionally wide choice of DC and AC motors. For three-phase gearmotors, Baldor is standardising on its latest IEC IE3 rated (CEMEC EFF1+) motors, which provide unprecedented energy efficiency.
