Cost savings November 1st 2007 Bielomatik says the financial benefits derived from using its Minimal Quantity Lubrication systems mean that most machining centres newly built by Albon for its connecting rod production facilities worldwide, now incorporate this solution for lubricating the machining process. Use of the Bielomatic MQL system has reduced capital expenditure of new line introductions and cut lubricant use. A typical 'wet' machine may use up to 10 000L/h depending on application. While much is recycled, due to natural wastage overall losses can be between 5 and 15L/h. Using the MQL system, oil consumption has dropped to less than 150mL/h. The cycle time for each machining operation is reduced and the dry swarf produced sells for up to 80% more than 'wet' swarf. More articles from Bielomatik: |
