Entry-level cold metal pressing lubricant March 1st 2008 Anew range of pressing,
forming and drawing
lubricants has been
introduced by Rocol. The V-press
range has been developed as an
entry-level lubricant to complement
the company's high performance
Ultraform range.
The range is said to offer Rocol's
performance and quality at a
competitive price and is suitable for
light to medium duty pressing,
forming, piercing and drawing
operations in thin gauge materials.
It is easy, safe and economical to
use and is readily removable to
allow subsequent finishing
operations.
The water extendible, extreme
pressure, cold metal pressing
lubricant mixes at a ratio of 3:1 in
water and can replace neat oil in
some applications.
It can be used as a universal
fluid, eliminating the need for
stocking different grades of
lubricants and is said to be
particularly suitable for light to
medium gauge stainless steel
components produced on
progression tooling.
When manufacturing, for
instance, in CS1 cold rolled 0.4mm
gauge mild steel using four-stage
progression tooling, the benefits of
using V-press X include zero
scoring or pick up. Rocol says the
product is more economical to use
than neat oil and that it can be
easily cleaned in alkaline wash.
Similar benefits are said to be
possible when using single blow
tools on 0.5mm gauge copper. More articles from ROCOL Site Safety Systems: |
