Hygienic plastic bearing May 1st 2006 Aseries of miniature plastic housed bearings are said to be in considerable demand in the hygiene-sensitive food, pharmaceutical and chemical industries, where non-corrodible housings and stainless steel bearings are essential.
The bearings from RA Rodriguez complement the company's established Greenlign and redlign ranges. The new range introduces two basic types: the 2N two-hole flanged bearing and the 4N, its four-hole counterpart. Each housing type is available in a range of sizes to accommodate a selfaligning stainless steel insert bearing with bore diameters from 3-12 mm.
The housings are precision moulded from high-tensile plastic with strength characteristics comparable to those of die-cast metal alloy. However, unlike cast iron housings, their smooth surface is easily cleaned and will not corrode, chip or scratch.
