NEXT GENERATION
March 1st 2004

A greater load capacity, higher precision and longer life are the result of new design improvements made by igus to the glide pads and axial fastener of its DryLin R linear bearing. By changing the design of the glide pads from curved to flat on new DryLin R, igus has reduced the clearance between liner and shaft by 50%. The contact area is increased to 80%, thereby improving the overall load capacity. Users will also experience higher precision between bearing and shaft. The lower initial clearance leads to a longer life for the linear slide. Previously, a DryLin R bearing carrying a 10kg load at a speed of 0.1215m/s could expect to travel 360km. Now it can travel 925km.
