Bitter boiler
July 1st 2007

FMA has replaced several boilers at InBev's Wellpark brewery, with three NOx models previously used at the Boddington's Strangeways site in Manchester. FMA's remit also involved the detailed re-design of the flu gas system, allowing for the future accommodation of economisers and ensuring that the correct emission criteria was achieved. FMA put in place a control system geared to ensuring optimum efficiency and lifespan, with all efficiency data being captured and reported. The brewery was kept running throughout the entire upgrade procedure, achieved via the installation of a temporary boiler which supplemented steam release capability while each pair of old boiler units was replaced.
