Steaming ahead with laundry November 1st 2008 Wellman Robey now has
three high volume, steam
raising boilers in operation
at Salisbury Linen Service,
which is incorporated within
a new hospital located on
the outskirts of the city.
Steam provided by the
boilers is a vital ingredient
in the supply of fresh linen
to both the public and
private sectors. Included
are uniforms for nurses and
the armed forces, as well as
linen for hotels. The laundry
has a capacity of 300 000
items per week
The boilers, each rated at
4800kg/h 12 barg, are
rotated weekly in pairs to
allow for maintenance,
periodic inspection and
upgrades. Each boiler is
designated as a ULS-1E,
indicating that it has
5000kg/h steam output with
'Economisers' built into the
unit to boost efficiency.
Boilers are fitted with
natural gas fired G P
Burners. More articles from Wellman Robey: |
