ATEX-COMPLIANT CABLE CARRIER May 1st 2005 KabelSchlepp Metool now offers an ATEX-compliant version of its Uniflex cable and hose carrier for use in hazardous environments such as waste water treatment plants where covered bridge scrapers and clarification tanks can present a hazard due to methane build-up.
The new range is made from composites with a high carbon content to provide good earthing properties and protection against static charges. In waste water treatment plants, Uniflex is typically used to carry power and control cables to scraper bridges.
The ATEX-compliant chains were developed for manufacturing plants and defence installations where gases, dust, particle materials or explosvies are present. Smaller, non-sparking cable carriers have been used in machinery making electronic chips and in medical equipment.
The cable carriers are said to combine stability, reliability and long life with the ability to achieve tight bending radii. More articles from Kabelschlepp Metool: |
