steel chain and UNIFLEX
Advanced 1555 plastic chain,
now with glide shoes.
The steel chain has been
put to good use at a shipyard,
where long unsupported
travels had to be bridged. In
this case, the cable carrier
systems also needed to cope
with high ambient temperatures
and heavy loads.
Reliability and minimum
downtime for maintenance
were also key considerations.
Kabelschlepp offered a
solution based on glide shoes
made of highly abrasion
resistant plastic material.
These reduce friction and
have wear indicators so
maintenance can be
minimised.
Depending on the
application, replacing the
glide shoes costs only 10% of
the cost of replacing the
