Blower powered drying system
January 1st 2012

A blower-powered drying system at the Dana driveshaft assembly site,Wellingborough, has boosted the plant's prepainting drying process, giving effective paint coverage of drive shafts and related components, and reducing costs.

Shafts and components passing through the drying process undergo a washdown.

Complex and irregular shapes have catchment areas where water can get trapped.

A blower-powered drying system from Air Control Industries comprises two opposing banks of 15 reciprocating air-delivery nozzles, mounted vertically at the entry point into the oven.

Nozzles sweep up and down to deliver a moving volume of high velocity air, while creating turbulence to dislodge water trapped in recesses.
