A TAD Easier January 1st 2006 ifm electronic says use of its TAD series temperature sensors means that regular calibration is no longer necessary.
The use of two different sensor elements that monitor each other in the process ensures that a developing sensor drift is immediately detected and reliably diagnosed. Cyclical calibration is not necessary. Should one element fail, the process continues with the second measuring element.
Via the diagnostic output of the sensor, possible error states are transmitted to the higher-level controller.
A failure warning and switch-off threshold can simply be defined via the software.
The sensor covers a range of -10 to 150°C and is resistant to -25 to 170°C for a short time.
