New from Sick, the Hiperdrive (Highly Integrated Performance Drive) will offer users precision, repeatability and a high level of operating reliability in positioning applications - resulting in fewer rejects and greater product and process quality.

The integrated positioning drive comprises a motor, gearbox, absolute measurement system and control electronics. It allows rapid automatic changeovers in printing, packaging and metalprocessing machines, and is said to provide flexibility, reduced changeover times, higher productivity and reduced operating costs.

The drive enables machine changes to be carried out fully automatically with high levels of accuracy and repeatability. It has a compact housing, allowing simple integration into new and existing machines. There are versions that offer operating speeds to 280rpm and driving torques to 20Nm.
