ATEX certified drives

The latest in a long line of drive packages, supplied by Hansen Transmissions to Europa Crown, is destined for a vegetable oil production plant in Italy.

The main Hansen P4 gear unit, with its associated motor and drive couplings, is to form the drive to a Desolventiser/Toaster. The gear unit is rated to accommodate the 25t of thrust generated by Europa Crown's machine.

The ancillary Hansen SK4 geared motors are used on the rotary valve drives associated with the Desolventiser/Toaster.

The drives are to operate within the hazardous environmental conditions associated with the vegetable oil industry, requiring that they be certified in accordance with ATEXZ Zone 1, Gas.
