Cool softstart November 1st 2003 Rockwell Automation has introduced a new design of softstart that provides integrated features and new technologies in a configuration that is said to be half the size of its predecessors.
SMC-Flex has an integrated by-pass that automatically closes when the motor reaches its nominal speed. This results in cooler running components and reduced enclosure size. Combined with the space-saving and efficient design, the softstart is said to represent a 50% saving on traditional products, with heat losses being reduced by 80%.
Options include electronic overload, modular communication capabilities with star-delta or direct-on-line starting options for standard squirrel cage induction motors.
SMC-Flex is built into a compact, modular package that is easy to install and maintain. Advanced diagnostics increase performance and a range of communication capabilities provides networking options.
Rated from 108 to 480A (94 to 831A for Star/Delta) and suitable for 200 to 600V, the unit offers a choice of starting options. More articles from Rockwell Automation Limited: |
