Driving forward March 1st 2006 Drives & Controls 2006 and other shows running at the NEC at the same time mark that launch of the UK's biggest manufacturing and engineering event
Drives & Controls 2006 will herald the start of a new way forward for UK engineering and manufacturing events. From this year, the exhibition, run by DFA Media, will take place every two years, alongside the Electrex and AirTech shows and the National Electrical and Electronics Directives (NEEDS) conference. These exhibitions will take place at the Birmingham NEC (May 16-18) at the same time as the MACH exhibition and the subcontracting show SUBCON, resulting in the UK's biggest manufacturing and engineering event.
With around 40 000 visitors expected at this year's event in May, this is a comprehensive gathering of major manufacturing and engineering trade shows.
Drives & Controls is the UK's only dedicated event for drives, automation, motion control and power transmission.
Staged in association with the British Automation and Robotics Association (BARA) and Profibus, the show has strong industry support.
Stringent legislative measures are providing manufacturers with increasing challenges and it's important that their processes meet the latest legislative requirements. Together with the NEEDS event, the Drives & Controls show will bring together experts and exhibitors able to provide answers to queries about validation, traceability and legislation.
Exhibitors will bring knowledge of directives such as the European Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standard, which are placing rigorous controls over the validation and traceability of manufacturing systems and automation equipment.
While the co-locating shows will retain their individual identities, the fact that they are all together at one time means that senior visitors from the manufacturing and engineering sector will be able to meet representatives from all of the fields relevant to their businesses. With the additional attraction of a comprehensive series of workshops and seminars running throughout the show, it's going to be an unmissable event.
