BDL says it has supplied conveyor drives for just about every type of bulk and waste handling application, replacing conventional geared motor drives with compact, totally sealed BDL drum motors.

Recycling of waste materials continues to be big business due to ongoing changes in legislation and environmental concerns.

Automated handling and sortation methods have increased and the process has become a priority, with BDL drum motors acknowledged as a reliable, maintenance-free drive unit for handling conveyors.

Enclosed in a steel drum and made with hardened polished steel gears, the motors are said to offer a trouble-free, long life.

Pat Doran, operations manager at GWM, a company that manages one of the UKs largest recycling plants, says Since we introduced BDL drives into our equipment, we have cut maintenance schedules by 70% and achieved savings on energy costs of 32%.
