Four pole unit November 1st 2003 To generate greater torque at low speeds without the need for a gearhead, maxon motors has opted for four poles in its latest 45mm industrial brushless unit.
The application of state-of-the-art electronics has added extra dimensions to the performance of the EC 45 4-pole. In terms of strength, as expressed by its speed torque gradient, the motors 1.5 rpm/mNm is said to be four times better than that of the comparable 2-pole version.
At 5000 rpm, it supplies a constant torque of about 0.25Nm. Its work is achieved smoothly and quietly, even at high speeds, as mechanical vibrations have been minimised.
The compact unit is said to have all the advantages of the companys electronically commutated motors, including high energy efficiency, long life and absence of cogging. More articles from Maxon Europe Ltd.: |
