Motor tests May 1st 2008 Baker Instrument Company's
predictive maintenance testing
equipment for electric motors was
shown by Whitelegg Machines at
Drives and Controls 2008.
For off-line testing of a motor's
insulation system, AWA testers
offer winding resistance, Meg-ohm,
DC step voltage, PI and surge tests,
providing a complete guide to
insulation condition.
The surge test includes Baker's
pulse-to-pulse error area ratio
software for detecting weak turn-toturn
insulation.
The Explorer online test unit
monitors running motors, looking
for power quality issues, broken
rotor bars, overloading, mechanical
issues, including bearing problems
in either motor or load. This is
achieved by measuring the voltage
and current feeding the motor. New
DC-3000 software lets Explorer be
used for monitoring DC motors. More articles from Whitelegg Machines Limited: |
