Reductions in development times, easier machine layouts and savings in cabling time are claimed for the new ELAU PacDrive SCL-055, an integrated servo motor/drive system from Inmoco. Designed to overcome the physical constraints of beverage, pharmaceutical, food and other liquid packaging applications, the purpose-built system integrates motor and drive in the same trapezoidal enclosure. As a result, it is suitable for direct integration into rotary tables used in capping and labelling operations. The modular design of the Servomotor Capping and Labelling (SCL) system provides a solution to running motor cables from rotating machine components to amplifiers in control cabinets.
