Particulate separators
May 1st 2006

The range of particulate separators manufactured by Rosedale Products Europe has been extended to include both smaller and larger sizes and to include motorised purging as an option.

The separators use centrifugal action to remove particulate contamination from fluids, either as a general clean-up facility or as a pre-filter to extend service periods in fine filtration systems. They are effective at removing sand, paint flakes, metal chips, chemical scale and other debris down to 50µ.

The number of housings in the range has been increased from seven to 11 so that inlet and outlet connections now range from 3/8BSP to 6in flange to accommodate nominal flow rates from 15 to 5400L/min.

Contaminated fluid enters the top of the cylindrical housing at a tangent, forcing solid particles outwards and downwards until they are deposited in the base tank ready for purging. The cleaned fluid rises up a centre tube to the outlet connection at the top of the unit.

Little or no maintenance is required as there are no moving parts to wear out or fail, nor filter media to clean.

To dispose of accumulated contaminant, three purging methods are available.
