Around the world March 1st 2008 An unusual new
milestone is a cause
for celebration for
Hansen
Transmissions.
Carrying out field
service and repair on
industrial gearboxes
ranging from 100Nm
to 1000kNm, in the
last 12 months, the
UK team of 14
engineers, has visited over 30
countries. Hansen's home base
Huddersfield has been the
springboard for visits to Mexico,
the Philippines and China for
geared units servicing, ranging
from Ball Mills to Monorail.
The team have also carried out
over 500 repairs and interventions
on wind turbines in 15 countries
including Crete, Canada and Costa
Rica, in addition to their activities in
the industrial field.
Hansen reckon that during this
period, their UK team have climbed
over 30 000m – the equivalent of
climbing Mount Everest 3.5 times,
or in slightly more local terms, 190
Blackpool Towers! The company
believes that its UK workshops
have really benefited from the extra
field service work showing a large
increase in repairs output.
