COMBINED HMI/PLC UNIT

Available from Moeller, the XV400 series of HMI/PLC units comprise a graphic operator panel with either infrared or resistive touch screen and high performance compact PLC – all in a single device.

By combining these technologies, the company says the system designer can reduce design time and increase programming efficiency.

An integrated Ethernet interface enables both programming and data access via FTP directly on the unit as standard. This offers big advantages to the user where management information is important and fast diagnostics ensure minimum downtime in the production environment.

Also implemented is a live Web server, enabling remote access to the machine or process using only an Internet browser. This avoids any issues of licensing and version control throughout the maintenance team.

Configuration of the unit is said to be equally flexible. The control environment is programmed using the CoDeSys programming tool.
