PLC upgrade

Denca Controls has completed a significant legacy PLC upgrade programme at the North-Westbased R&D centre of excellence for a global pharmaceutical business.

Denca's remit embraced the staged replacement of the legacy PLC equipment in the production/fumigation suites and has involved scheduled replacement of Siemen's S5 PLCs with Siemen's S7 PLCs plus comprehensive legacy support.

Taking responsibility for the engineering design of new, compatible circuits, Denca has rewritten PLC software in the required format, re-written HMI driver software, provided full bench testing and simulations, installation and commissioning. Testing was validated to the highest IQ/OQ protocols.
