Uses for the low temperature Landscan Pro LSP6 series of ir linescanning systems from Land Instruments International include two quite specific applications: monitoring the shell temperature of rotating kilns making cement, dolomite and similar minerals; and providing temperature distribution profiles of metals being cold rolled at <300C.

Although very different, both applications share the fact that they are focused on a moving target object.

Central to the system are LSP60, 61 and 62 scanner heads that can generate high speed temperature profiles at up to 100Hz in the range 20 to 600C with an accuracy of 3C. They have a wide scan angle of 80 and field of view of 100:1 maintained at all target distances.
