Extreme role
September 1st 2007

A new product has been launched by John Crane to provide reliable alignment and measurement capabilities for extreme environments.

Lase-A-Lign Ex is designed for use in hazardous and potentially explosive environments. A durable design makes the stainless steel and anodised aluminium unit resistant to a host of external conditions. It is impact, corrosion, water, dust and leak resistant, approved to IP66 and IP67, and complies with the latest ATEX standards with regard to such hazards as static electricity, electrical sparks, mechanical knocks and friction.

In addition to its horizontal and vertical shaft alignment capabilities, the device provides the user with programmes to measure straightness/ twist, vertical and flange-mounted machines, alignments of Cardan-shaft-coupled/centre offset machines and angular error between two rotating shafts.
