Available from Curtis Instruments (UK), the new Smart IC range is a monitoring system for charging and discharging batteries and is designed to recharge batteries only when necessary

For example, if an electric vehicle has absorbed 500Ah from a battery during its operation, Smart IC will recharge it with 500Ah and an adjustable percentage overcharge

The system is built into the battery connector, will store up to 200 charge cycles and can be used with any type of battery and charger. A Smart Hand digital programmer is available for programming, monitoring and verifying the condition of Smart and may be connected to a PC provide statistics, historical data and trend analysis of the charge function.
