LabView helps save costs
March 1st 2005

Boeing has selected a National Instruments’ LabView and PXI-based solution for acquisition of vehicle launch environments on its midcourse defence system vehicle flight test program.

The company needed a means of acquiring and analysing simultaneous highspeed inputs and displaying them in real time on a remote computer in the launch control bunker.

NI’s alliance partner, Radical Systems, used LabView graphical development software and PXI embedded hardware to create a parallel data acquisition system to maintain the data throughput and required precision. They remotely accessed the embedded PXI controller via an Ethernet interface to control and observe data. The system showed a cost saving of 30% compared to its predecessor.
