New angle
March 1st 2005

Sensors UK has introduced a range of inclinometers that are housed in an IP65 case for direct mounting and measurement of horizontal or vertical angles.

The SB series uses a capacitive liquid-based technique and offers standard ranges from ±10 to ±80°.

A supply voltage of between 8 and 30VDC is required. Internal conditioning and amplification electronics give a rationalised output 4-20mA that is linear and proportional to the measuring angle.

Non-linearity is claimed to be within 0.1% of full scale output and resolution is to within 0.01°.

Optional potting increases the environmental protection to IP67 and gives increased vibration protection, allowing the instrument to operate in all but the harshest of environments.
