Cost savings
January 1st 2004

The latest version of the Leuze Mayser Safe AS-i Bus System enables major cost savings by allowing non-safety devices to operate on the same network as the safety device for which it was intended. As well as reducing wiring hardware, the new BUS connectivity system cuts installation time.

The structure of the Safe AS-i Bus System requires a plc with an AS-i master card to provide direct interface with the network and a Safety Monitor Module that resides on the network. Once a device has been triggered, its signal is recognised by the Safety Monitor Module, which sets the whole operation into a safe mode.

Non-safety devices can be connected easily for interfacing with the plc.
