Torque multiplier March 1st 2006 The accurate tightening of fasteners in restricted spaces presents a real challenge for manufacturers. Inaccessible fasteners can often only be reached using improvised tools that lack any kind of calibration or verifiable accuracy.
However, Norbar Torque Tools says that with its new Handtorque range, limited access no longer means limited accuracy.
The Handtorque HT-52 is believed to be the world's smallest 1000Nm torque multiplier, designed to deliver a high level of accuracy where access is impossible using a conventional torque wrench or bulky torque multipliers.
The unit allows fasteners with limited access to be tightened with a guaranteed multiplication accuracy that is said to be better than +-4%. For maximum versatility, the device is compatible with manual torque wrenches or with torque-controlled angle nut runners.
