Detect metal in foil
May 1st 2004 A breakthrough in metal detection is claimed by Sartorius with the launch of its Observer metal detector.
The device makes it possible to detect ferrous and stainless steel contamination in aluminium foil wrapped products. Because aluminium does not have any magnetic properties, it is practically transparent to the new detector. The Observer is also impervious to interference, such as that caused by the product to be examined and by metal parts in the surrounding environment.
This is possible due to the metal detectors specific calculating operations that eliminate noise or stray fields in the signals received by the highly sensitive built-in sensors. More articles from Sartorius Limited: |
