Remote telemetry systems

MBO from LogicaCMG, offers a
wide range of remote telemetry
units for utility companies and
organisations with geographically
dispersed assets.
Depending on the model
selected, capabilities include: real
time monitoring of varying
numbers and types of input, local
IEC61131-3 compliant automation,
support for a wide range of
communications from GSM/GPRS
to satellite, standalone battery
operation, and intrinsically safe
operation in hazardous areas.
Units are designed around the
company's 'Atomic Building Block'
concept which defines a set of
parameters and optimises them for
the applications they serve. These
include: use of the same core
'building block', ensuring product
synergy with additional components;
optimal match to the application I/O;
and compact size.
The company says that through
this 'atomic' approach, user
familiarity with one unit can transfer
to others in the range without the
learning curve often associated with
some of the other products on the
