Remote worker
September 1st 2005

Flexi-Drive from Smith Flow Control is a cable-driven, remote operator for valves in inaccessible or hazardous locations. It can transmit drive to valves up to 60m away and accommodate 540° of bends in the cable run.

The device consists of three elements: operator station (with geared handwheel and mounting facility), valve station actuator, and ‘continuous loop’ helix drive cable.

Turning the handwheel of the operator station simultaneously operates the valve actuator. The cable allows high valve operating torque to be transferred through tunnels and other obstacles between handwheel and valve.

The unit is suitable for any size or type of valve.
