The latest line of ammonia scrubbers from Perma Pure includes heated-jacket versions and features an improved, longer lasting proprietary scrubbing media. The AS-Series removes ammonia from stack emissions, eliminating damage to monitoring equipment. Scrubbing media is said to last ten times longer than before, extending the maintenance interval between replacements. The scrubbers now use a phosphoric-acid based scrubbing media. This extends the time between replacements to several months and makes it visually obvious when the media needs to be replaced. The shell of the rugged housing is easily released and removed without tools. Heated jacket versions can be used when the scrubber cannot be installed in a heated area. They prevent the condensation of excessive water in the scrubber and the loss of water soluble media.
