ATEX conduit gland
May 1st 2005

Kopex believes its ATEX flameproof conduit gland to be the only such product carrying full European approval, that is capable of offering isolation between hazardous and safe areas.

The gland is suitable for use in Ex II 2 GD (gas and dust). EExd IIC and EExe II applications. It can be used in conjunction with any of the company’s liquid tight conduit systems and is sealed using a specially developed two-component epoxy putty. This is mixed by folding and rolling before being packed around the cables passing through the high specification brass gland.

The putty cures within half an hour to form a seal that can resist the passage of flame or gases produced by an explosion. It is also water and chemical resistant. The gland can be disassembled for sixmonthly safety inspections without compromising the putty’s integrity.
