Advantys STB from Telemecanique is an open system that is said to offer greater flexibility in device integration. It provides removable field-wiring connectors to allow pre-wiring of I/O for faster installation and maintenance, and a power distribution system that is designed to enhance safety, facilitate troubleshooting and permit flexible module locations for easier system expansion. For critical applications, Advantys STB offers hot swapping. Components can be changed without the need to shut down the system. The installation stays on-line, so productivity losses are minimised. Facilities for local reflex control at I/O level are provided for applications, for example, where control must be as close to the operation as possible.
