Halogen-free gland
May 1st 2005

Lapp has launched a fire-safe and halogen-free version of its Skintop nylon cable gland.

The ST-HF-M version combines the benefits of the Skintop series in terms of a rapid and reliable installation with enhanced protection for people and property in the even tof fire.

The halogen-free gland is said to offer a safe and environmentally friendly solution for a wide range of cabling applications, including factories, warehouses and public buildings. It also complements the company’s halogen-free cable solutions. Skintop ST-HF-M nylon cable gland is free of chlorine, fluorine and bromine. It has a flammability rating of UL 94 V0 which indicates that, once ignited, burning stops within 10sec, with no dripping.

The gland is resilient to chemical attack, resistant to wear and tear, and said to be tougher than PVC.

The Skintop cable gland can be centred, fixed, hermetically sealed and strain-relieved with just a single turn. Ridges inside the dome click as it is tightened and lock it into place.
