HOT AIR BLOWER May 1st 2005 A hot air version of its EP10 industrial blower has been introduced by Air Control Industries.
The EP10AH is designed to handle inlet temperatures of up to 180°C without any significant temperature increase of the bearings, so unit longevity and low maintenance requirement are similar to those of its original ambient air blower.
The minimal temperature rise results from a heat dissipation ‘spinner’ disk in a vented housing between blower and impeller. This simple, yet effective, method of cooling negates the need for cooling water and associated supply/drainage problems.
Maintenance requirements are low due to the blower head being cast and machined as a single piece with equally spaced bearings configured to provide even loading from the belt drive.
The company says the design is fundamentally different from other belt driven units and allows the belt to be run at much lower tension, resulting in significantly reduced loads on all parts of the assembly.
The single-piece construction also guarantees correct alignment of the integrated precision spindle. The outcome is said to be a more robust and efficient assembly that both improves manufacture and enhances stability and reliability, essential with operating speeds to 20 000RPM and deliveries of 1200cfm.
Specially engineered hybrid ceramic bearings are sealed for life to prevent ingress of contaminant and to retain the high performance grease. More articles from Air Control Industries Ltd: |
